WWCUK is a charity in London that provides advice, support and services to Portuguese and Spanish speaking people in the UK.
Initially set up in December 1998 to provide support for Portuguese speaking members of the Angolan community in London, our work has since expanded to reach members of the wider African community along with Portuguese and Spanish language speakers from all over the world. Each year over 1,500 people need our advice and support.
We give a voice to people who might otherwise have no access to the benefits and services available to them. We combat homelessness, debt, and health issues while improving access to services, education and other people in their wider community.
With so many people in these communities living in poverty and outside of the circles of support available to them, we provide an essential link to people with nowhere else to turn.
But what really makes WWCUK’s work so effective is that all our staff come from refugee background themselves. Not only do they know the problems and challenges that people face, they are experts in providing the support and guidance that Portuguese and Spanish speaking members of the African community so desperately need. We know the value of compassion, humility, empathy and respect, and we strive to reach those who need us most.
WWCUK relies upon voluntary donations for the majority of our funding. Find out how you can support us.
