“We are extremely grateful to the British People and to our adopted country which is Great Britain for giving us protection, sanctuary, and many opportunities.”
Success Stories from the alumni of service users and volunteers who have been helped in the past by Welwitschia Welfare Centre
“Hello everyone listening to this voice note. Hope you are all well. My name is Vanessa and I worked at WWC (Welwitschia Welfare Centre) for a year during 2018 and 2019.
Before I explain myself. Let me tell you what an amazing opportunity it was.
I always heard about this organisation in my community and area as I live in a heavy Angolan/African populated area and I always heard of the famous Dr Pedro who was known as the miracle worker. Every case he picked up was successful.
So how could I miss this opportunity to work with him. He took me in at a time I needed to do something good with my time and build my expertise. Under his care I learnt a lot and was able to see his success rate was real. So many people in distress would come through and he would provide a professional service. But Dr. Pedros methods were different because there was also a streak of empathy and sympathy. Which are always good for a successful formula.
I would always return home from work with such a great feeling that we were working as a team to make a difference in people’s lives and supporting them in situations that if no one else was to b kind enough to pick , they could have ended up in a dark path.
So I am forever grateful and in debt to Dr. Pedro because he was so amazing to me as his staff and to his clientele who many times I would see how grateful they were through the gifts and foods they would bring as he treated everyone with special attention and care.”
