Pedro Lunguela
Mr. Pedro Lunguela was educated at Institute of tropical Agriculture, Altenburg Germany where he obtained HND(1984-1988) and at Imperial Wye College, University of London where he graduated with 2:2 honours in Agriculture(1994-1997). He speaks Portuguese, Spanish, French German and two other African languages. Apart from that he has taken part in different trainings to further develop his professional career.
Mr. Pedro as he is widely known not only within the Angolan community but also PALOP community (African Portuguese Speaking communities), got the idea of establishing first an advice centre for Angolan in December 1998 as he felt that there was lack of culturally and language appropriate services specifically for Angolan and other African Portuguese speaking countries. Mr. Pedro is a dedicated and committed community leader who is always ready to serve the community when is needed. Under his leadership, the WLAC has gone strength to strength and has become the leading African Portuguese Speaking community organisation in the U.K. Currently, he is a full-time Adviser/ and a volunteer Chief Executive.
He believes that clients should be treated with passion, respect and compassion and that no-one can suffer due to lack of knowledge of their rights. He sits in different Committee Management Boards of Voluntary Community Organisation. He is also a great believer in social justice.
Amongst his interest includes; Current affairs, social policy, poverty, voluntary community issues, football, reading, walking, Latin American and African music.
